W&S 3×14″ American Model Snare Drum – 1930s

At close to 100 years old, this solid mahogany snare drum has a round, wet “splat”, and chunky attack. It has 12 floating, single-tension thumb rods, wood hoops, and wound wires. The snare strainer is fixed style tension adjustable, and screwed directly into the top hoop. The edges are in good condition and modern heads fit fine. The aging wear is perfectly gritty, and everything functions properly, though could be smoothed up a bit with some lubrication, if desired.
