Toca Sympatico System Nesting Djembes: Lightweight and Tunable

The Sympatico System Nesting Djembes offer musicians a groundbreaking solution to the trade-off between portability and sound quality. These drums feature an innovative, proprietary internal tuning design that allows each drum to be tuned individually, providing a personalized and amazing sound that is uniquely the player’s own. This system is significantly lighter than traditional external tuning hardware, which is often bulky and heavy.

Design and Portability

These djembes solve the common problem with lightweight drums, which typically use un-tunable, pre-tuned heads to cut down on weight. The Sympatico System achieves a weight that is less than half that of traditional hand percussion drums while retaining full tunability. The internal hardware is hidden, eliminating the external bulk that can interfere with playing.

Heads and System Integration

The Sympatico System comes standard with Sympatico System tunable heads (equipped with Pretuned Fiber Dot Heads, which the manufacturer states provides a fantastic sound right out of the box). A key feature is the system’s integration with Toca’s existing Freestyle II Nesting Drums line. The drum heads can also be removed and played like separate hand drums.

The djembes are available individually or in a set of three with head sizes of 8″, 10″, and 12″. Finish options include Woodstock Purple (WP), Kente (K), and the all-new Autumn Days (AD).
