Rogers 5×14″ Dynasonic Wood Snare Drum – 1960s White Marine Pearl

A Rogers 5×14″ Dynasonic wood shell snare drum dating to around 1962. All original with ten “bread-and-butter” lugs, triple-flanged hoops, and white marine pearl wrap finish. In great shape with the snare mechanism working well. Has some surface rust and pitting on the chrome, although the wrap and interior are quite clean. This drum tunes up easily and sounds crisp and ultra sensitive.

In its time, the Dynasonic was a ground-shattering innovation and a revelation for drummers yearning to be seen as musicians on a plane with other instrumentalistsas capable of expressing themselves with nuance, range, sensitivity, and musicality beyond their often caricatured reputation.

Not many wood-shelled examples of these drums remain (and in fact, only a small number of them were ever produced in comparison to the metal-shelled version) and those that doin addition to being remarkable instrumentsexist as examples of what’s possible when we refuse to allow the status quo to remain the highest acceptable level of our potential.
