Friedrich Gretsch founded his small music shop in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1883, where he crafted drums, banjos, and tambourines. No one could have foreseen that a little instrument maker on Middleton Street would evolve into one of the most prestigious drum companies worldwide. Now, 140 years later, Gretsch Drums are considered some of the most iconic instruments in the music industry.
To commemorate their 140th anniversary, Gretsch is thrilled to unveil the limited edition 140th Anniversary Snare Drum. This 14×7 snare drum features Gretsch’s celebrated 6-ply USA Custom Gretsch formula maple/gum shell, featuring an outer veneer of exquisite figured ash.
The snare is equipped with nickel-plated hardware, a snap-in key holder, Micro-Sensitive throw-off, and finished with a natural gloss lacquer. Additionally, this model includes a custom snare bag and certificate of authenticity, signed by Fred Gretsch and the factory artisans who meticulously crafted these drums.
Production of this coveted snare will be restricted to only 140 units, ensuring its exclusivity as a collectible item.
