Handcrafted in Spain, the Meinl Artisan Edition Martinete Cajon is a high-performance instrument designed in collaboration with master cajon builder Jos Pepote Hernndez Diaz. Built for discerning players, this cajon delivers an exceptional balance of comfort, tone, and refined visual appeal.
The solid Tulip Poplar body is enhanced with a beautiful Brazilian Ironwood frontplate and a decorative wood inlay, giving the cajon an elegant and handcrafted aesthetic. The 15mm thick resonating body includes an extra-thick sound port ring, which boosts bass compression for a punchy low-end response.
Inside, two independently adjustable sets of ten micro-coiled metal strings provide a crisp, sensitive snare effect. These strings are hand-wound in the traditional Spanish style, and their tension can be fine-tuned via two tuning screws using the included key.
For enhanced playability, the cajon features rounded frontplate corners, thumb notches, and ergonomically shaped contours, while six soft rubber feet keep the instrument stable and reduce unwanted resonance. A built-in pop filter on the soundhole helps control airflow and improve tonal focus.
